Your Blind Spots
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
Welcome to a new week, and a new month! Be uncommon and level up your leadership this month! 👊
Your Sunday Nugget
This Week's Question:
Who is helping you see your blind spots?
This Week's Challenge:
Recently, we talked about having an accurate self-awareness. Have you dialed in on yours?
Often, our self-awareness is an assumption of many different things that we believe about ourselves, but guess what? It helps to get an outside perspective so that we can close the gaps between what we believe and what is actually happening.
Years ago, I received some outside feedback that I was too intense, which made me less approachable. I was scaring the people around me! I was not aware of this. It was a blind spot. It took someone else giving me feedback and then suddenly I became more aware of my facial expressions, tone of voice, etc.
Who can do this for you? Your challenge this week is to ask someone you trust, “Is there anything I do that is not helping me be a better leader?” Their response to this question just might be the insight you need to grow yourself this week.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“Average players want to be left alone. Good players want to be coached. Great players want to be told the truth.” – Doc Rivers
