Who Can You Invest Time With?
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
This week, I am sharing another valuable lesson learned from my late friend and mentor's life and leadership. Be inspired this week to be more uncommon!
Your Sunday Nugget
This Week's Question:
Who do you invest your time with?
This Week's Challenge:
My mentor, Mark, generously invested his time in me personally. Sometimes after the lunch rush was over, he’d ask me if I’d like to go to the cafeteria in the mall with him. Of course, I always said yes. We’d spend an hour or so there about once a month and he would talk to me about the business, but he’d also ask me about my life. These lunch meetings became extremely valuable to me. I learned so much but even more importantly, I felt valued. He expressed that by providing his time.
Your challenge this week is to give your time to someone you lead. Take them for coffee or go on break with them at work and ask them how they’re doing. It just might be life-changing for them.
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
"Time is the currency of relationships. There's no way to invest into a relationship without investing your time.” – Dave Willis
