What Thrills You?

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

It's a brand new month, and almost halfway into the year. How is it going? Have a productive week ahead, and do something that fills your tank!

Your Sunday Nugget

This Week's Question:

What thrills you?

This Week's Challenge:

A worthwhile thrill can fill our “tanks” quickly. I just had a great conversation with a client regarding activities and experiences that thrill us. His list was different from mine but even discussing these things injected energy into my mood and spirit. I’m not talking about time spent on things we just enjoy, but instead those things that flood our positivity and energy quickly. A few examples for me are:

  • Sharing a life-impacting experience with others
  • Playing outside with my grandkids
  • Hiking with my wife
  • Working with a team to pursue a worthy challenge

Leadership can be heavy and work will at times drain our tanks.  If we are to lead at a high level, we not only need to be aware of what thrills us but we also need to intentionally spend time doing those things.

Your challenge this week is to define a few activities that thrill you and ask a few others to do the same. Then schedule it!

This Week's Quote to Ponder:

“We lead better with gas in our tank.”

Until next week,

LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
