The Gift of Extra Time
Dear Uncommon Leaders,
Hope you enjoyed your weekend! Have an uncommon week!
Your Sunday Nugget
This Week's Question:
What do you do with unexpected time?
This Week's Challenge:
It snowed over the weekend and it doesn’t do that very often in my area. I usually work some on Saturdays and had planned to this weekend, but the forecast altered that a bit. With snow and ice around, we had a few shut downs and delays which gave me unexpected time to do something with.
What could I do with extra time? I could sleep more. I could watch some movies. I could spend time with my wife; that would be nice. I could read - yeah that sounds good! I could do an extra workout…
You get it; the options are limitless. I just didn't want to waste the gift of extra margin.
How would you spend a few minutes or hours of unexpected free time?
When an opportunity like this arises, let’s not waste it. Let’s use it to rest and re-charge, learn, deepen relationships, exercise and so on. We need to be ready for unexpected margin so when it happens, we are intentional about how we use it.
Your challenge this week is to decide some ways you will use the next gift of time you’re given.
Have a great week and I hope some of you get some extra free time as well!
This Week's Quote to Ponder:
“Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time…..Your time is your life.” -Rick Warren
