Going Beyond the Surface

Dear Uncommon Leaders,

Welcome to a new month! Can you believe it's already September? Hope you're on track to achieving your goals this year!

Increase your influence this new month ahead! Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Your Sunday Nugget

This Week's Question:

How deep are the conversations you have with your team?

This Week's Challenge:

Surface conversations have a purpose… to break the ice and get to know people a little better. But, if we are going to have real influence in others’ lives, we have to get beyond the surface and go deeper. We should try to learn people’s stories, their dreams and their fears. We do that by sharing our own and asking them to share theirs. Most people are craving someone else to get to know them by going a little deeper.

This week your challenge is to get beyond the surface in some of your conversations with people at work.

This Week's Quote to Ponder:

It’s important to make friendships that are deeper than gossiping, drinking and hanging out. Make friends who you can have deep conversations with. Make friends you can cry with. Make friends who support your life goals and believe in you. -Unknown

Until next week,

LET'S GO BE UNCOMMON!
