Who wouldn’t want their children to sleep 12 hours at night??
In a recent conversation, with two pregnant friends, we were discussing different approaches to parenting. I shared with them a book I had used when getting my children on an eating-playing-sleeping schedule, which led to them both sleeping 12 hours through the night.
The interesting fact is that the book is very controversial.
In that moment, this dawned on me:
Many good things are controversial.
Religion. Ice cream. Running. New ideas. Relationships.
Some things that are easy to debate have certain controversy attached to them, and just because they are controversial doesn’t mean we should avoid them.
Is controversy a good or a bad thing? And how does it play out in your workplace?
I think controversy can often be seen as a good thing if we realize it's often a conversation between people that respect each other. I don't want to be around people that always see things in life the way I do. My life is enriched by a little controversy sometimes:)
